Residence transfer to another company within 3 months

I have been working for a private sector firm for the past two years. My residence was transferred from a family visa to Article 18. My residence now needs to be transferred immediately to another firm. Will my current company have the authority, according to the Kuwait law, to accept my transfer immediately or only after 3 months?
Does the Kuwait law say that residence from one firm to another can be transferred only after 3 months?

Name withheld

Answer
: The law on the 3-month notice does not mean there is no way out of it. If both parties agree it can be reduced or dropped altogether. If your sponsor gives you the release you can transfer immediately.

one time onlySrivi | 5/31/2011 1:03:54 PM Hi Jinu, No need to pay 200 kd. It is only one time payment, for parents dependant visa, residency fees. It is not for insurance. Insurance is always 40 kd per year and 1 kd for health card. Nothing to worry. Not required to pay every year renewal. pay only 10 kd stamp, thats all. insurance 41 kd.

company Srivi | 5/31/2011 10:00:48 AM yes, company have the authority to release you immediately. but, most of the companies, wants 3 months time to replace another employee in your place. Also, new company has to process your papers and make new residency in their company. It is not as per your convenience. your reason is not clear. Why needs to transfer immediately ? One you should resign, or company should terminate you ? No other way. just like that you cannot transfer to another company. follow labour law in old company also new company in shoun.
