Notice period for Resignation

I have been working in a local company for the last three years. After I finished my three years, they changed my position from CSR to Branch Incharge in Sept 2009. The firm told me it would increase my salary after six months but they have not done so nor have they changed my position in my new contract.
I told them about the labour rule (if anybody works in one company for more than three years there’s no need to stay for three months). They told me to just bring an Article No or paper from the Labor Dept about this rule. Where can I get a copy of this rule?

Name withheld

Answer:
There is no such rule. It doesn’t matter how long you have been with a company, you still have to give a 3-month notice unless there is a mutual agreement which allows you to go earlier.

release in 3 yearsSrivi | 5/29/2011 10:43:39 AM After 3 years working in any company, you will get release. thats all. but, not 3 months notice period. If company wants, they can release you immediately or file case in shoun. but 3 months notice you should give, to arrange another employee in your place.
follow labour lawSrivi | 5/29/2011 9:57:09 AM Yes, you are wrong. You cannot make your own laws, as per your convenience. No such rule, or law, as per your release in job. Everyone should give 3 months notice or salary in lieu of company acceptance, on mutual understanding or face labour law fines. your increment and resign is different than notice period and 3 years rule.
