Al-Qaeda ... and world peace Terror fight far from over
WITH the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, many questions comes to fore, like whether the fight against terror should stop now or should we take more precautions to ensure that peace prevails throughout the globe.
The United Nations (UN) called the death of al-Qaeda leader a ‘critical development’ in the global anti-terror campaign but at the same time, urged countries across the world to intensify their fight against terrorism.
Terrorist networks are expanding in all ways and are using modern social media, which proved its efficiency in resolving many tensions of late and had played a great role in the recent Middle Eastern revolutions.
We can say that this global fight against terrorism is far from over. In fact, we must continue the fight and even increase our pace by adopting more comprehensive and unified measures.
More importantly, in the coming stage, all nations must combine their efforts and focus more on eliminating the roots of extremism which leads to terrorism, be they social, cultural or economic factors so that we can prevent our future generations from falling prey to extremism.
