16 ‘rounded up’ in Nugra raid on prostitution dens 57 illegals held in Rai, Khaitan swoop

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Acting on a tip-off and armed with search and arrest warrants issued by the Public Prosecution, the Hawalli police recently raided several suspicious apartments in Nugra and arrested 12 Asian prostitutes and four pimps also Asian and referred them to the authorities, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources four of the arrested women are believed to be housemaids and they were reportedly kidnapped by the pimps and forced into prostitution.

57 arrested: The Farwaniya police during security campaigns in Khaitan and Al-Rai are said to have arrested 57 Asian and Arab residence law violators and referred them to the authorities, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said 22 of these people had been sentenced in absentia for committing financial offences.

Teen molested: Police have arrested an unidentified salesman for molesting a female teenager in Nugra, reports Al-Rai daily.
The salesman flirted with the victim and went on to touch her private parts and when she screamed for help he reportedly escaped from the shop.
Following a complaint filed with the Nugra Police Station police conducted investigations and arrested the suspect near his home and referred him to the authorities.

Teacher ‘let off’: Municipal Council member Faraz Al-Mutairi has condemned the act of an expatriate teacher of the Al-Firdous High School for Boys for criticizing the government of Kuwait and the people on his Facebook page, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Al-Mutairi added the teacher abused the citizens by giving them improper and indecent descriptions.
Al-Mutairi has criticized the Ministry of Education for not taking appropriate action against the teacher although it had full information about his attitudes.
Al-Mutairi has asked the Interior Ministry to take necessary action and punish the teacher. However, it has been reported the said teacher no longer practices his profession.

Addict caught: Police have arrested an Egyptian man for consuming drugs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Without going into details a police source said the Egyptian has been handed over to the Ahmadi Police Station.
During interrogation, the Egyptian could neither remember his name nor his age.

Youth stabbed: Police are looking for four youths for stabbing a 22-year-old youth in Jahra, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The youth who was found on the ground in a pool of blood by police and paramedics has been admitted to the area hospital.
The youth has given police the names of all the suspects.

Reports denied
: Under-secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khalid Al-Jarallah was quoted as saying the Kuwaiti citizen Mohammad Al-Dousari, who is in custody of the Lebanese government will be handed over to Kuwait within ‘a few days’, reports Al-Mustaqbal daily.
Al-Jarallah denied press reports which said Al-Dousari will be handed over to Iraq.
