Amir briefs Cabinet on GCC meet Stability in Bahrain welcomed
KUWAIT CITY, May 15, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah chaired Sunday an extraordinary Cabinet meeting at Seif Palace in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarah Al-Sabah.
Following the meeting, State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Ali Fahad Al-Rashed said during the meeting, HH the Amir briefed the Cabinet on the good results reached by the thirteenth Consultative Summit held by the leaders of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), states which was concluded here last Tuesday in Riyadh, capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in which the GCC leaders discussed all issues relevant to GCC, and the ways of further boosting the GCC progress.
HH the Amir also briefed the Cabinet on the latest developments seen by the Arab region, and the Arab Gulf states in particular, noting that GCC leaders welcomed the return of stability to the Kingdom of Bahrain, hailing the wisdom of Bahraini leaders, while stressing their united stance against any threat posed to any GCC state.
The GCC leaders also asserted that the responsibility of protecting the security and stability of GCC Arab states is a collective one, and thrashed out the current Yemeni crisis, its repercussions, and the efforts and contacts made by GCC states with concerned Yemeni stakeholders with the aim of reaching a consensus that protects the security and stability of Yemen, prevents bloodshed there, and preserves territorial integrity of the country.
In this respect, the GCC leaders asserted their continued support to the brotherly Yemeni people in what lives up to the Yemeni people’s aspirations, while welcoming the Palestinian national reconciliation agreement which was signed in Egyptian capital city of Cairo, stressing that reconciliation cames as a victory for the Palestinian unity, and in response to the calls by Arab and Islamic nations.
