Company asked us to sign our contracts which were in Arabic

Our company asked us to sign our contracts which were in Arabic. We refused to do so and demanded these be in English. Who is right?

Name withheld

Answer:
The company is right. All contracts have to be in Arabic and only these will be accepted by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. But you have the right to demand an English translation of the same. Please remember that only the Arabic version will be accepted by the courts in case of any dispute.

Does 3 Month advance Notice apply to all sectors ?merwyn pereira | 5/16/2011 7:30:52 AM We were locally hired (visa transferred) by a foreign company who has a local sponsor. At the time of joining we signed a contract (in english) which was for one year. That contract expires on 25th May, 2011. On 15th May we were told verbally there was no work so our contract will not be renewed. Our residence permit also expires mid of next month. Is it our right to ask them to give us 3 months extension on our residence permit ?? or is it the company's liberty whether to do it or not ?? We will appreciate if you can advise us as soon as possible. Thanks Name withheld
