Court sustains Egyptian nurse’s acquittal on forgery charge
KUWAIT CITY, May 13: The Misdemeanor Court upheld the verdict of a lower court that acquitted a male Egyptian nurse of forging a sick leave form.
Case files indicate the accused, who works in a private clinic, sustained burns, so he obtained a sick leave form and had it signed by his doctor at Al-Babtain Hospital. However, the brother of the owner of the clinic filed a complaint against him, accusing him of forging the sick leave form, alleging it was just a photocopy.
The lawyer for the accused asserted his client got injuries and submitted an official sick leave form to his employer. He raised doubts on the allegations of the owner’s brother, especially since the complaint against his client was submitted after he filed a case against his employer to demand release of his passport and payment of overdue salaries.
