Filipino maid hangs herself to death in sponsor’s home
KUWAIT CITY, May 12: The remains of a Filipino maid who allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope inside her sponsor’s home in Rumaithiya have been referred to Forensics, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
As soon as the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior received information on the incident, paramedics and personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department who rushed to the spot found the corpse dangling from a rope.
The daily added the concerned authorities are investigating the death to know why the maid ended her life.
Saudi killed: The remains of a Saudi youth who died in a road accident have been referred to the Criminal Evidences Department, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily.
The victim’s friends who were seriously injured have been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital.
The accident took place on the Fahaheel Expressway. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Iranian nabbed: The customs officers at the Al-Shuwaikh Port have arrested an unidentified Iranian man for attempting to smuggle 2,022 drug pills into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the man was arrested on suspicion and when his baggage was checked they found the pills hidden in a secret compartment.
The suspect arrived into the country on visit visa.
EPA station hit: Police have arrested an unidentified expatriate for stealing iron rods from the pollution measuring station in Umm Al-Haiman belonging to the Environment Public Authority, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the theft case has been filed at the Umm Al-Haiman Police Station.
Sources say police acting on information put the suspect under surveillance and caught him red-handed while stealing the iron.
During interrogation the suspect is said to have confessed to committing the crime.
