Drugs found in meat, cigarette packs
Customs officers at the airport prevented two passengers from smuggling 12,000 narcotic pills carefully hidden in cigarette packets and pieces of meat into the country.
The passengers are said to have aroused suspicion of Customs officials as they went through checking. The pills were found after the search was intensified. The suspects have since been referred to the relevant authority.
Meanwhile, Director General of Customs Ibrahim Al-Ghanim commended the officials for this discovery plus immense efforts being exerted to prevent entry of illicit drugs into the country.
