Police hunt gang for robbing people near ‘teller’ machines

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Police are looking for four unidentified persons for lying in wait near bank branches and robbing people after they withdraw money from ATMs, reports Al-Anba daily.
In one incident, an unidentified Egyptian man has filed a complaint with the Shuwaikh Police Station, accusing four people of robbing him. The man also said they threatened to harm him if he raised an alarm.
The complainant said after he withdrew the money, an unidentified person asked him to help him take an elderly man who was unable to walk to a car.
As the victim walked with the man, he was shocked to find three other men waiting in the car. All of them carried arms and ordered the man to hand over the money and escaped.

Asian found dead: Acting on information that an Asian man was lying by a roadside in Farwaniya, paramedics rushed to the spot and found the man dead, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Without going into details the daily said the man’s remains have been referred to Forensics.
Meanwhile, the remains of an unidentified Asian laborer which were found at a farm in Abdali have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Seyassah daily.The victim is believed to be in his 50s. The cause of the death is not known.

Bootlegger arrested: Police at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested an unidentified person for possessing booze, reports Al-Rai daily. According to reports the bootlegger was on his way to the airport to see off one of his friends. He allegedly stopped in the middle of a road and when a police patrol ordered the man to move to the side of the road, he disregarded the request. However, he attempted to escape when he saw police walking to his car.
 Police chased him and forced him to pull over. During a search of the vehicle police found booze in his car.
He has been handed over to the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station.
