Mudhi supports calls to double ‘distinguished teachers grant’ MoH attested 3,000 academic certificates
KUWAIT CITY, May 1: KUWAIT CITY, May 1: Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mudhi Al-Humoud said she supports calls for doubling the ‘distinguished teacher allowance’ to KD 1,000, saying such teachers deserve it and that she will strive to increase the budget allocated for the purpose, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily had earlier published the minister’s decision, specifying the conditions for getting nominated for top awards in the education profession. These are granted to distinguished school directors, assistant directors, instructors, heads of departments and teachers on the International Teachers Day.
Meanwhile, assistant undersecretary for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Dr Khaled Al-Sahlawi affirmed that the ministry attested 3,000 academic certificates of doctors, pharmacists, nurses and others in medical support services, reports Al-Shahed daily.
He said all procedures were taken to make sure that the certificates were original and added that certificates of foreign universities are accredited based on international standards.
The certificates have been referred to the Ministry of Higher Education to double check the validity of the degrees, he noted.
