KUWAIT CITY, April 29: The Criminal Court presided over by justice Salaah Al-Huti has sentenced a 57-year-old bedoun woman to death for killing an Egyptian watchman by setting fire to him while he was fast asleep, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to case papers, a disagreement broke out between the victim and the accused when the former had suspicions about the behavior of some residents of the building especially the apartment in which the accused lives.
The watchman informed the owner of the building that some immoral acts were being practiced in the apartment. The owner of the building expelled her from the building.
The angry woman threatened to kill him for several times. On the day he died she poured an inflammable substance around the victim’s room and set fire but he escaped miraculously and the woman was accused of attempting to murder him on Sept 4, 2010 but was later released on a KD 200 bail.
According to the victim’s brother three days prior to his brother’s death, the woman threatened to kill him again so they complained to the owner of the building and asked to change his place of work.
However, on the night of Eid the accused went to the watchman’s room poured benzene on him and set fire to him and closed the door from the outside.

Fireman sues minister: A fireman filed a lawsuit against the State Minister for Cabinet Affairs, in his capacity as the head of Kuwait Fire Services Directorate and director of Public Authority for Social Security demanding compensation for the damage (constant physical disability) he suffered when he was performing his duty, asking the two defendants to pay all dues and end of service indemnity, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The attorney for the plaintiff Abdul-Muhsen Al-Qattan explained his client has suffered 50 percent deformity in his ability to work and as a result the two defendants forced him into retirement without compensating him for the 13 years of work he put it at the fire services department.

2-yr-old falls from car, dies: A two-year-old baby girl allegedly died in a tragic accident on a road in Jahra, reports Al-Dar daily.
According to reports the baby was with the maid who was on the back seat of the car. The baby reportedly fell off when she was looking out of the window.
After the baby fell, the maid allegedly opened the door of the car and jumped out of the running car to rescue the baby but an oncoming vehicle crushed the baby under the wheels.
The baby died on the spot.
