Asian trio caught with hoards of dollars at airport

KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Three Asians visiting the country on the invitation of an unidentified company have been arrested by Customs officials at the airport on suspicions of money laundering after $200,000 was found in their possession.
According to the officials, the money was found hidden inside their clothes but they declined to disclose its source. They claimed the money was purposely to purchase vehicles but Kuwaiti law does not allow expatriates to carry huge amount of cash.

Fake police nabbed:  A 17-year old Kuwaiti donned in military uniform was arrested by securitymen on patrol in Hawalli area, as they spotted him checking vehicles on foot and he tried to escape after they approached him and asked for his military ID.
Sources said the youth used to patrol the Arabian Gulf Street plus other commercial complexes with a forged military ID card to demand money from expatriates violating residency. It is noteworthy the youth had previously been arrested for similar cases.

Decision cancelled: The Administrative Court recently cancelled a decision on the appointment of seven deputies to the chairman of the Fatwa and Legislation Department, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Salman, because it contravenes the law.
Case files indicate Dr Kazim Bu Abbas, consultant at the department, sued acting State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan and Sheikh Mohammed.
It has been reported Al-Roudhan issued decision number 10/2010 on the promotion of seven assistant undersecretaries to become deputies of the chairman.
The session was presided over by Judge Hisham Al-Bassam.
