Divorced Mother Sponsoring Dependent Visa for Daughter
I am a working woman in Kuwait, earning KD 300 per month. I want to sponsor my daughter who is 8 years old and studying in India. Currently I am not residing with my husband as I have a divorce case going on in India. I want to know what all documents are required to be submitted as per the legal process if I want to sponsor my daughter.

Answer: You will have to wait until your divorce is finalised to sponsor your daughter. Once it is finalised you should not have any problems in getting a dependent visa for your daughter as you meet the salary requirement. After that all you will need is the divorce papers, attested by your foreign ministry in India and by the Indian Embassy in Kuwait followed by attestation by the Kuwait Foreign Ministry.
After that all you need is a copy of your daughter’s passport, an affidavit attested by the Indian Embassy and the Kuwait Foreign Ministry indicating that the person you wish to get a visa for is your daughter, a copy of your work permit and lastly a copy of your Civil ID.
Attach all these papers to an application and apply at the Labor Office in your area. You should have no problem in getting the visa as divorced women and widows can get dependent visas for their children.
