Women cops freed in abuse, battery Three Kuwaiti sisters beaten on the beach
KUWAIT CITY, April 17: The Criminal Court acquitted 3 women police officers of beating and abusing a Kuwaiti woman. It also abstained from pronouncing judgment on accusations of humiliation, abuse and assault of police officers. The case was filed after the officers allegedly fought with the citizen at Mesilla Beach somewhere last year.
The Public Prosecution charged the 3 officers aged 29, 26 and 23 of maltreating the 36-year old citizen by virtue of their work after she presented a medical report claiming the officers attacked and injured her. Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution charged the woman for abusing and humiliating the officers in the course of duty. The defense counsel, lawyer Abdullah Al-Kandari stressed his clients were only doing their duty, according to dictates of the law when the woman decided to make issues difficult by refusing to show her ID and later fabricated lies against his clients.
Beaten on beach: Three Kuwaiti sisters have filed complaints with the Sharq Police Station accusing their cousin of beating them with his oqal (headgear), reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the incident happened on a beach in Failaka. The sisters were reportedly wearing bikini and their attire upset the cousin.
However, according to some reports the sisters have withdrawn the complaint. The reason is not given.
Fight over woman: Acting on information police rushed to a commercial complex in Fahaheel and arrested eight persons two groups of four people each for fighting in public, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources the fight was over a veiled woman. Three youths who were injured during the fight have been hospitalized.
The daily added some youths have been arrested and are being interrogated by police.
