I was born in Kuwait and stayed in the country for nearly three decades before I left for my home country and stayed there for 3 years. I have a Kuwaiti driving licence which is still valid. Some people tell I can still use the licence while others are of the opinion I can’t. What is the correct position?

Answer: You can’t use the old licence as it was cancelled as soon as your residence expired or you got it cancelled while leaving the country.

So you have to go to the Traffic Dept in your area to get it renewed. If you are caught driving with the old licence it will be considered as ‘driving without a licence’ and could be arrested.
