KUWAIT CITY, April 13: An unidentified Kuwaiti woman is said to have cheated hundreds of Emirati women to the tune of 600,000 dirhams, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added the suspect organized a ‘wedding exhibition’ at the Dubai Center which displayed Kuwaiti wedding costumes particularly the ‘jilbab’.
When several women showed interest in the costumes, including some working for the Public Prosecution and courts the suspect asked for down payment and promised to give them the best ‘goods’.
However, after receiving the money she is said to have left Dubai.
The daily did not give more details.

Woman molested: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti youth for molesting an American woman while the latter was ordering meals at a fast food restaurant in Sabah Al-Salem, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The youth allegedly approached the woman and began flirting with her. When she ignored his advances he reportedly touched her breasts and escaped.
The woman called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior and police rushed to the spot and arrested the suspect.

Food store raided: The Farwaniya police in coordination with personnel from the Kuwait Municipality recently raided a big store in the basement of a building in Farwaniya and confiscated large quantities of expired foodstuffs, reports Al-Shahed daily. A police source the basement was raided following a tip-off from unidentified sources.
According to sources police have taken into custody an Egyptian man and two Filipino women. They were caught red-handed while tampering with the original labels on the products and changing the expiry date of the products. The arrested people have been referred to the authorities.

‘Lucrative’ trade: Personnel from the Kuwait Municipality, Andalus branch, during a surprise campaign have arrested five Bangladeshis (employees of the Municipality) for ‘stealing’ electrical appliances and other stuff abandoned in front of homes and selling them in Amghara Scrapyard, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspects have been fined between KD 100 and KD 300 each and referred to the authorities.

Couple held drunk: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti couple for consuming alcohol, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The couple was seized at a police checkpoint in Kabad at a late evening hour. The daily added police also seized from the couple a bottle of whisky and referred the man and the woman to the authorities.
