Fight erupts as US citizen is conned by Canada duo
KUWAIT CITY, April 10: Police have arrested an unidentified American man and a Canadian couple and referred them to the area police station, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the trio were involved in a fight and were arrested when passersby called police.
At the police station the American said he befriended the Canadian woman and not only spent a lot of money on her but she also borrowed money from him. When he discovered she was already married he asked back his money and was shocked when the woman called her husband.
‘It’s not my mistake’: A Jordanian man, identified as Adnan Baraka, recently visited Al-Rai daily to tell how he was wronged by the Immigration Department which reportedly retained his and his wife’s passports and demanded his wife’s deportation, reports the daily.
Adnan said he wanted to sponsor his wife and applied for family visa, but was shocked when Immigration Department officials demanded that his wife be deported immediately because she was holding a passport issued by the Palestinian Authority.
Adnan said the officers were surprised that she was granted a visa earlier as it was against the rules and added that it is unfair that they are being made to pay for the mistakes of others. “It was the ministry’s mistake from the beginning as it should not have granted my wife the earlier visa,” he stated.
