Sponsors, buyers unaware as woman held in visa trafficking

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: Personnel from the General Department for Immigration have arrested a female employee at the Government Mall Centre in Jaber Al-Ali for trading in visas and selling residence permits to expatriates without the knowledge of the original sponsors, reports Al-Rai daily.
The fraud came to light when an unidentified Kuwaiti man discovered he had sponsored an unidentified expatriate although he had no knowledge about the issue.
Investigations conducted by securitymen led to the arrest of the employee who has reportedly admitted to completing more than 20 transactions in return of money.

Passport forged: Officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested an Asian woman for attempting to enter the country on a forged passport, reports Al-Rai daily.
This came when the passport officer discovered the woman who was attempting to enter the country was deported from the country on March 24, 2011.
Records show the woman was deported for involving in immoral activities and she allegedly attempted to enter the country using another name.
The woman has been deported to the point of origin.

Iranian trapped: Police are looking for an unidentified Iranian man for using the ID and a car belonging to a dead Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Rai daily. According to reports the man was selling honey and people at a Diwaniya in Shamiya got tired of the man visiting them every day and insisting they should buy honey which he claimed was unadulterated.
Tired of the man’s behavior one of them called the cops and the man sensing trouble escaped on foot leaving behind his vehicle. Police later found the Civil ID and the car both of which belong to an unidentified dead Kuwaiti.
