KUWAIT CITY, April 5: Police have arrested an unidentified expatriate for attempting to kidnap an Asian housemaid while she was in the company of her sponsor, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said the suspect bundled the victim in his car while she was with her sponsor in Salwa and drove off. The sponsor called the police and the latter combed the area and arrested the kidnapper and the housemaid.
According to reports the kidnapper tried in vain to escape but the cops chased and arrested him.
During interrogation the man said he wanted to befriend the housemaid but when the latter rejected him he decided to kidnap her.

Bedoun stabbed: Police are looking for two Bedoun men who stabbed and injured their compatriot in Sulaibiya area. A rescue team was deployed to the scene immediately after passersby had placed a distress call to the Operations Room to report the case, and paramedics referred the injured person to Farwaniya Hospital.

Friend is thief: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for stealing a credit card belonging to his friend and withdrawing KD 250 from his bank account, reports Al-Rai daily. When the friend filed a complaint and the cops showed him CCTV footage of the bank branch from where the money was withdrawn he was shocked to see his friend withdrawing the money.

Copper cables stolen: Police are looking for unidentified persons for stealing copper cables from lamp posts at the northern borders, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily added the theft was discovered by a police patrol. They found a number of lampposts flattened with the help of metal saws.
