Young couple detained at police station in abuse of authority

KUWAIT CITY, April 5: A Kuwaiti youth recently narrated his ordeal how he and his fiancée were detained at the Adailiya Police Station for five hours for no reason, reports Al-Rai daily.
He added the cops picked them from a public garden in the area at 3:30 pm. The cops allegedly asked the couple for their IDs and asked them to come to the police station.
The youth added the police officer on duty gave them back their IDs and asked them to go home because they had done nothing wrong.
At this point the two policemen got angry because the youth wanted to know their names and detained them for several hours. However, they released them after they wrote a pledge not to abuse police on duty.
The youth has filed a complaint with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lt General Ghazi Al-Omar.

Teacher sacked
: One more teacher has allegedly lost his job for beating a student from the same private school where a few days ago a teacher was terminated for the same reason, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
Earlier the teacher was terminated when an unidentified student caught the teacher red-handed beating a student with his cell phone and posted the clip on the YouTube website.
The second teacher committed the same mistake. This time the victim was a Kuwaiti student and his father filed a complaint with the Farwaniya Police Station.
The father is said to have submitted a medical report to substantiate his claim.
