Indian missing with KD 5,000 rent money Peddlers nabbed
KUWAIT CITY, March 31:Securitymen arrested three Asians for trafficking in alcohol and seized 130 bottles of local made liquor from their possession. The trio was traveling in a Japanese-made vehicle in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area when police patrols stopped them for routine inspection. The traffickers were referred to authorities along with the contraband.
612 bottles seized: The Highway Patrol have arrested an unidentified Asian with 612 bottles of booze, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The bootlegger was caught by the cops patrolling the Hadiya Area off King Fahd Expressway.
The man was allegedly driving a car and when he saw police he looked surprised and tried in vain to change course.
Indian missing: A Kuwaiti businessman has filed a complaint with the police accusing an Indian man of stealing KD 5,000, reports Al-Shahed daily.
In his report the man said he owns a real estate company, and the Indian was charged with collecting rent.
He added the Indian has disappeared with the rent money. Police are looking for the suspect.
Women arrested: A female member of the ruling family has filed a complaint with the police accusing a Kuwaiti woman of insulting HH the Amir, reports Al-Rai daily.
In her complaint the Sheikha said this happened during a fight between two women inside a well-known commercial complex.
The women attacked and insulted each other and one of the women abused HH the Amir.
Both women were arrested and taken to the Farwaniya Police Station. The daily did not give more details.
Copper cables seized: The Capital governorate police have seized two car loads of copper cables believed to have been stolen from a school in Dasma, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources police acting on information that the cars with the loot were parked in the parking lot of Al-Rashed Primary School in Block 3, rushed to the spot. They found the cars but the thieves escaped on foot.
Man in 16 thefts: The Sulaibikhat police have arrested an unidentified thief who was wanted by police in connection with 16 theft cases, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the arrest came when police received a complaint from a resident that a thief was burglarizing a house.
Police rushed to the spot but the thief managed to give them a slip. However, the cops pursued him and caught him in a nearby area.
He has been referred to the authorities.
Infiltrators held: Six Egyptians who illegally crossed into Kuwait’s territorial waters at the Al-Oaha Islands have been arrested by the Coast Guard, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources the men were aboard two boats. They reportedly tried in vain to get back into international waters when they spotted the Coast Guard patrol boat but they were detained before they could escape. They have been referred for interrogation.
