Owner unaware as Salmiya cafe shut for showing porn Indian, Nepali held with 25 sachets of heroin

KUWAIT CITY, March 28: An unidentified café in Salmiya has been shut down for showing porno movies late at night, reports Al-Rai daily. According to reports the Department of Vice put the café under surveillance after receiving information about the illegal activities and caught the suspects red-handed. When the owner of the café was summoned for interrogation he denied knowledge of what was going on in the café.

Heroin seized: Police have arrested an unidentified Indian and a Nepali for allegedly possessing 25 sachets of heroin, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to security sources the suspects were caught red-handed in Maidan Hawalli. They have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Caught at border: A GCC youth, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been referred to the concerned authorities for using his brother’s passport to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was arrested at the Al-Nuwaiseeb border post, reports Al-Anba daily.
It has been reported the officials manning the border immigration department spotted the difference in the picture and detained the youth for interrogation.
During interrogation he admitted to using his brother’s passport for travel because there is a travel ban on him.
He also said his brother was unaware that he was using his passport for illegal travel.
More investigations are underway.

Drunkard nabbed: The Jahra police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti man for drinking alcohol and possessing drugs, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
It has been reported the man was also wanted by law in connection with a financial fraud.
According to reports the suspect was arrested when an unidentified person informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior that ‘someone’ was sleeping by the side of a road. When police rushed to the spot they found the man was high on alcohol. He was taken to the Al-Jahra Hospital for treatment under police guard.

Threat to kill: Three people who allegedly broke into the home of a citizen in Doha and threatened to kill the man have been summoned by police for interrogation, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to the complainant the suspects barged into his home and threatened to kill him. However, they left after issuing threats and verbally abusing him and his family.
One of the suspects was allegedly carrying a gun. The complainant has given police details about the intruders.

Hoax bomb call: A case of hoax call has been registered against an unidentified person at the Mishref Police Station, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to the daily an unidentified person called from overseas and said a bomb had been planted in the Syrian Embassy in Kuwait.
Acting on this information, bomb disposal experts rushed to the embassy and evacuated the building but no bomb was found. Police are working to identify the caller.

Pharmacy hit: An unidentified pharmacist has filed a complaint with the Salhiya Police Station accusing an unidentified person of breaking into the pharmacy and stealing KD 500, reports Al-Anba daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.

Cable thieves sought: The Ministry of Electricity and Water has filed a complaint with the police accusing unidentified persons of stealing 21 copper cables from one of the ministry stores in Jahra, reports Al-Anba daily. Police are looking for the thieves.

Hoardings removed: The Jahra Municipality during a campaign to remove encroachments on government land is said to have dismantled 636 hoardings from state property while the Audit Department and Follow up Services Department is said to have removed 149 advertisements from roads, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The Municipality is said to have warned those who place advertisements in violation of a law that bans placing adverts which block the view of motorists.
