10 Schoolgirls stripped in a school; Preacher called liar
KUWAIT CITY, March 26: The Jahra Educational Directorate has referred the manager of a girls’ high school to the Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Education for forcing 10 school girls to take off their clothes in order to search for cell phones, reports Al-Rai daily.
Preacher called liar: In a very strange incident and the first of its kind in Kuwait, an unidentified woman entered the men’s prayer hall at Al-Rashed Mosque in Al-Salam area during the Friday prayers and called the preacher a liar, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The preacher was delivering a sermon and was talking about the current events in Bahrain when the woman interrupted him and called him a liar. Other worshippers then calmed her down and sent her away.
Director of Mosques Department in Hawalli Waleed Al-Satlan said the sermon will be reviewed and action will be taken against the preacher if it is proved that he violated rules.
Meanwhile, the Mosques Department will refer Egyptian Imam and preacher of Al-Shayea Mosque in South Surra to the Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for not abiding by the rules and talking about the State Security Department in Egypt.
A source from the ministry said preachers should not dwell on political issues during their sermons.
Phones, drugs seized: The Central Prison administration seized 40 cell phones and 10 grams of heroin during a surprise inspection campaign, reports Al-Anba daily.
All inmates denied possession of the confiscated items and investigations are under way to determine how the said items were smuggled inside.
Sat TV for probe: The Ministry of Information referred Mubasher TV channel to the Public Prosecution, reports Al-Jarida daily.
An informed source from the Information Ministry said the channel aired speeches organized by Thawabet Al-Umma last week in support of the Bahraini government and its people. One of the participants interviewed by the channel allegedly abused Shiite scholars on air.
Egyptian caught, fined: Director of Andalus municipal branch Mohammad Al-Matraqah caught an Egyptian man while he was collecting electrical appliances and water heaters dumped in front of residential houses. The man was seen loading the stuff in his half lorry, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Egyptian was fined KD 100 and made to write a pledge of never repeating the act.
Teens held making stunts: Ahmadi police arrested six youngsters for endangering the lives of others by performing daredevil stunts with their vehicles in the suburbs of Jaber Al-Ali and Al-Zahr areas and impounded their cars, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
