Young Nepalese housemaid tries to commit suicide
KUWAIT CITY, March 19: A Nepali housemaid in her 20s tried to commit suicide by cutting the artery on her left hand at her sponsor’s home in Sulaibikhat.
Acting on report, a rescue team rushed to the scene and carried the maid to the Sabah Hospital for medical attention. A case was registered against her.
Expat robbed: A 48-year old Asian expatriate filed a case in Jleeb Shuyoukh police station and reported that two thieves took his wallet containing KD 230 cash and a mobile phone at knife point, while he was walking by the road. He provided police with details of the suspect to facilitate their arrest. A case has been registered for investigation.
Egyptian killed: A 47-year-old Egyptian died instantly and his co-passenger sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident on the Fourth Ring Road opposite Shuwaikh Industrial Area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The accident took place when a truck crashed into a car and pushed it in the middle of the road. A speeding motorist had crashed into the truck from behind.
Man loses leg: A Kuwaiti man in his 50s lost his leg in a traffic accident on Wafra road, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said the man went to his farm, took a sheep and was on his way home when the vehicle overturned. He was rushed to Adan Hospital where his leg had to be amputated.
Sources say the sheep also escaped when the vehicle overturned.
