Municipality team seizes spoiled meat

KUWAIT CITY, March 18: An unidentified officer working for the Kuwait Municipality Services Inspection and Control Department at the Central Abattoir in Shuwaikh is said to have seized spoiled meat imported from an unidentified Asian country through the Kuwait International Airport. The meat was seized before it reached the market, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.


Workers carry the spoiled meat to be destroyed.


The meat was reportedly destroyed by the inspection team and veterinarians under the supervision of the Minister of Public Works and Municipality Affairs Dr Fadel Safar.

Al-Safar is said to have praised the inspectors for the job well done.

Police arrest man for trading in liquor: Police arrested a man for trading in alcohol and seized a large quantity of local made liquor from his vehicle. The man was initially stopped for regular inspection, but his nervousness prompted securitymen to check records which revealed that an absconding case was registered against him one-and-half-years ago.
The man was referred to authorities.

2 bottles of liquor seized: A drunken Bedoun man was arrested by patrolmen in Sulaibiya with two bottles of imported liquor in his possession.
The officers are said to have aroused suspicion of the Bedoun when they spotted him roaming the area late at night and asked him to stop for checking, in the course of which they smelt alcohol. He was referred to the concerned authority right away.

2 fingers of hashish found on man: Customs officers at the airport apprehended an Arab man arriving from an undisclosed Arab state for the possession of 2 fingers of hashish he tried to smuggle in to the country.
Sources said the officers found the contraband after checking the suspect thoroughly. He has since been referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.

KD 250 withdrawn: A 30-year old Kuwaiti citizen filed a case in Sabah Al-Nasser police station against the brother who allegedly stole his bank card and withdrew KD 250 from his bank account.
The man narrated he received a message from the bank that the aforementioned amount had been taken from his account and was surprised he couldn’t find his bank card. He believes the brother, traveling abroad recently, might have stolen the card. Police collected details of the suspect and registered a case against him.
