Visa racket busted- 4 Syrians sell 350 visas

KUWAIT CITY, March 16:Securitymen from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested four Syrians for forging documents to obtain 10 commercial licenses without the knowledge of their sponsor and selling 350 visas, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The arrest came when personnel from the Farwaniya Immigration Department received information that a Syrian company representative working for a trading and contracting company was selling visas.
The man was put under surveillance and police discovered the three others were helping him to forge the visas. Police also discovered the men were expert at forging the signature of the Kuwaiti sponsor and had managed to get 10 commercial licenses.
It has been reported the visas were sold mainly to Syrians. During interrogation the suspects are said to have admitted to selling 100 visas.
The source added all those who entered the country on forged work visas belonging to the 10 companies will be summoned. However, they will be given time to correct their status - transfer their residence permits to other companies.
