I have been in Kuwait for three years but I have resigned because I found a new job. My previous employer gave me a release and the transfer is still in process.
My problem is I have found yet another job with better benefits. Do I have the right to back out of the contract with the company which is processing the transfer of my residence? Will there be any legal action?

Answer: It all depends on the contract that you signed if you have one. But if it mentions that everything is ‘according to the Labour Law’ then the first 100 days would be your probation period in which either party can terminate the contract without notice.

But in many cases there is no probation period and in such a case you would face a problem and it would depend on the firm whether it should release you or not. The company can also demand compensation for the remaining part of your contract period.
