‘Dead Indonesian woman tortured, sexually abused by 2 brothers’ CID arrest actor for issuing KD 50,000 dud cheque
KUWAIT CITY, March 11: Personnel from the Farwaniya Criminal Investigation Department have solved the mystery surrounding the death of an unidentified Indonesian woman who was found in a pool of blood in Riqqa a few days ago, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
At that time it was reported the woman was tortured particularly since her hands and thighs bore marks of cigarette butts.
Police believe the victim jumped to her death from the sixth floor of an apartment in Riqqa where she was being held captive by two brothers both allegedly working for the Ministry of Defence (according to Al-Rai daily) because she could no longer bear the life of torture and sexual abuse.
The CID men are now interrogating the two brothers who allegedly kidnapped the woman from an unidentified location and held them captive inside their apartment until one of them decided to end her life.
According to a security source, the victim was taken to a hospital but she succumbed to her injuries. Police reached the suspects with the help of the victim’s telephone.
During interrogation by the Public Prosecution the suspects are said to have admitted to committing the crime.
Ex-husband accused of theft: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the Taima Police Station accusing her ex-husband of stealing KD 3,000 from her bank account, reports Al-Anba daily.
In her complaint, the woman told police she recently discovered the theft of her money.
Actor held for dud cheque: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested a well-known actor for issuing a dud cheque worth KD 50,000, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The arrest came after an unidentified Kuwaiti recipient of the cheque filed a case against the man.
The man has been handed over to the Public Prosecution.
Jordanian held with drugs: The Hawally police have arrested a Jordanian man for possessing drugs. He was taken into custody while driving along the Arabian Gulf Street, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources a police patrol on duty saw the suspect speeding in a car with tinted glass.
The cops chased and ordered the man to pull over and when an officer asked the man for his ID, he looked confused.
Police then searched the car and seized 15 drug substances including fingers of hashish.
The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the General Department for Drug Control.
