KUWAIT CITY, March 9: In a recent campaign by operatives from Farwaniya Security Directorate, in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality, 70 male and female Asians have been arrested for various criminal and moral offenses.
Based on a tip-off, security officers raided various dens of prostitution and arrested 14 Asian women and 2 pimps. They discovered the suspects have violated the residency law after checking their details. Also, the officers confiscated stolen iron rods from two stores and took 5 Asians who were found inside the stores into custody. Sources said the Asians had tried in vain to escape.

Also: The Farwaniya police recently raided a number of suspicious apartments in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and arrested eight Asian prostitutes and four pimps. All those arrested have been referred to the authorities, reports Al-Rai daily.
However, during interrogations the prostitutes claimed they were kidnapped by the pimps and forced into the trade against their will.

‘Smart,’ daring thief: Police are looking for an unidentified person who is said to have stolen a gold pendant worth KD 1,000 and a leather bag costing KD 560 from a shop in Salhiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the thief ‘purchased’ the goods from the shop and in a smart move escaped in a waiting Jeep.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints from a glass from which the suspect drank water. In the meantime police have also asked to see the CCTV camera film.


Woman abuses officer: An officer working at a Ration Card Office in Riqqae area filed a case against a woman who allegedly abused him without any reason, in the course of duty. A case was registered against him.

For revenge sake: When an unidentified person living in Waha, Jahra and believed to be in his 30s complained to the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior that his neighbor had shot at him with a pistol, police who were sent to investigate the claim found no traces of the bullets, reports Al-Anba daily. There were also no signs of any shooting having taken place in the area. However, when the alleged suspect was summoned for interrogation he admitted that he was involved in a quarrel with the neighbor but was shocked to learn the man had filed false charges against him. The daily did not give more details.

Bedoun with forged ID: A Bedoun was apprehended by patrolmen along the Wafra Motorway for forging Kuwaiti Civil Identity Card, as the officers ordered him to stop for checking. He was referred to the concerned authority immediately.

Juveniles mug Asian: An Asian expatriate filed a case against three juveniles who assaulted him in Jahra and took KD 190 plus mobile phone by force. He provided police with description of the suspects and registration number of their vehicle. In the meantime, their details have been circulated to various checkpoints to arrest them.
