KUWAIT CITY, March 4: An Asian expatriate violating the residency law was apprehended for selling pornographic CDs in Hasawi area.
According to sources, patrol officers saw a huge gathering and decided to investigate the situation. However, the crowd dispersed at the sight of police, while they chased and arrested the culprit. It was then the officers checked his details on computer and discovered he had violated the residency law for a year and half. He was referred to the concerned authority.
Meanwhile, in a recent campaign, securitymen from Salmiya have arrested three Asian expatriates, including a Pakistani national for violating the residency law. Sources noted the campaign will continue over an unspecified period to arrest violators of law.
In the meantime, security operatives from Farwaniya apprehended 7 Asians and an Arab expatriate for overstay at security checkpoints erected in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Farwaniya, Khaitan and Ishbiliya areas.  The culprits were referred to the relevant authority.
