TV anchor kissed in public
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 27: Police have arrested a GCC citizen believed to be 28 years old for allegedly kissing in public a TV anchor while she was recording a program during the recent celebrations, reports Al-Anba daily.
A police source said the youth was under the influence of alcohol and thought the program was live. He has been referred to the Dai’ya Police Station.
Liquor peddler nabbed: Police have arrested a Bangladeshi man for bootlegging, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources the man was arrested on suspicion because he looked confused when he saw a police car moving by the side of his car. He reportedly changed direction in a vain attempt to avoid police and tried in vain to escape. Police chased and arrested him. Police found in the car 30 bottles of locally manufactured alcohol.
Expats in airport brawl: Police have arrested four expatriates for fighting at the arrival hall of the Kuwait International Airport, reports Al-Rai daily. According to reports the expatriates arrived aboard the same flight and a silly joke is believed to be the cause of the fight. They are being held for interrogation at the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station.
Call traders arrested: The Khaitan police recently raided a house in the area and arrested 12 people — Bangladeshis, Indians and Egyptians — for stealing telephone lines and offering illegal overseas call services, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Police have also confiscated communications devices and a computer from the illegal service providers and referred them to the authorities.
Trio steals building items: Police have arrested three Bangladeshi cleaning company workers for stealing building construction materials and iron rods from buildings under construction. They were arrested in the suburb of Mubarak Al-Kabir, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The thieves were allegedly caught in the act. They have been handed over to the authorities.
