Filipina slashes wrist in suicide bid Son missing in fight with mom KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: A Filipina housemaid tried to commit suicide by cutting her right wrist in her sponsor’s house in Sulaibikhat. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving a call from the housemaid’s sponsor, who found her in a pool of blood inside her room. The rescuers took the housemaid to Sabah Hospital. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to identify the actual circumstances that prompted the housemaid to try to end her own life.
Son missing: A Kuwaiti woman filed a missing report on her 19-year-old son at the Rumaithiya Police Station.
According to the woman, her son left their house three days ago after a heated argument between them and he has not returned home since then. She tried to call him but his mobile phone was off. She asked their relatives and friends but none of them knows his whereabouts, so she decided to file a report with police.
The woman provided the security officers a detailed description of her son. The officers immediately started the search for the missing teenager.
Drugs, phones seized: : Securitymen at the Central Jail carried out a surprise inspection in the cells after receiving information from a reliable source on the alleged smuggling of drugs, mobile phones and prepaid telephone cards into the prison.
During the inspection, the security officers found four rolls of hashish, seven mobile phones and an undisclosed quantity of prepaid phone cards. The inmates, who owned the forbidden items, were referred to the higher authorities for questioning. Investigations are in progress to determine how the inmates got hold of these items.
Drug addict held: Police arrested an unidentified man for consuming drugs with two grams of heroin and some drug paraphernalia in his possession. While patrolling an undisclosed area in Hawally, the security officers noticed the suspicious movement of a man inside a vehicle parked in front of a building late at night. When they approached the man for routine inspection, the officers observed his unusual actions. This prompted the officers to check the vehicle thoroughly, resulting in the discovery of two grams of heroin and tools for consuming drugs.
A case was registered and the man was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
