College-going girl found in Salmiya apartment ‘I am old enough to take care of myself, free to live my life’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: A Kuwaiti man was shocked when he discovered that his daughter was not enrolled at the Faculty of Police and soon filed a missing persons report on her at a local police station, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint the man said all this while he believed his daughter was a student of the faculty.
Police later found the 26-year-old daughter holed inside an apartment in Salmiya.
However, she refused to return to her parents on grounds she is old enough to take care of herself and is free to live her life the way she wants.

Cylinder thieves held
: The Hawalli police have arrested a gang of Asians for stealing cooking gas cylinders from residential buildings, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to sources the suspects were caught in the act while stealing cylinders from a building in Hawalli. All those arrested have been referred to the authorities.

Drunkard abuses officers
: Officers manning the Salmi border post have taken into custody an unidentified Kuwaiti man for drinking alcohol and verbally abusing men in uniform, reports Al-Rai daily.
The suspect has been detained at the Taima Police Station.

Truck set on fire: Police are looking for an unidentified arsonist for setting fire to a truck which was parked on an open ground in Al-Qurain, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Acting on information firemen rushed to the spot and put out the fire and prevented it from spreading to adjoining houses.

Miraculous escape
: An unidentified expatriate had a miraculous escape from death after his truck overturned on a road in Wafra, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to eyewitness reports the truck ran out of control when one of the tyres burst.
