Asians held for kidnapping, forcing maids into prostitution 31 kg drugs with Pakistani peddler
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: Pol-icemen affiliated to the Immigration Department arrested three Asian men for kidnapping three maids and forcing them into prostitution, reports Al-Rai daily.
Policemen, acting on information, raided an apartment in Mangaf area and arrested the suspects. During investigation, the maids said they were kidnapped and forced to work as prostitutes.
31 kg drugs with Pakistani peddler: A Pakistani expatriate was arrested in possession of 30 kilos of hashish and one kilo opium which are estimated to be worth thousands of dinars.
Director General of Directorate General for Drugs Control (DGDC) Major General Ahmad Al-Khalifa reportedly received information about the suspect and he formed a team to follow up.
The team put the Pakistani under surveillance for two weeks and persuaded him to sell drugs to them. The suspect reportedly came to meet the undercover agents in a parking lot in Bneid Al-Gar area. Police swiftly arrested him and on checking the vehicle, found the contraband hidden in three iron boxes.
The Pakistani admitted that he was trafficking in drugs. He was referred to authorities along with the contraband.
According to Al-Anba daily the Pakistani’s mother is a Kuwaiti citizen. During investigations, the suspect said he smuggled the drugs from an undisclosed country through the sea.
Taking advantage: A military man was referred to authorities for kissing a cross-dresser and attempting to disrobe him inside Central Prison, reports Al-Rai daily.
The accused allegedly broke into the ward of the cross-dresser, who is serving three months prison term for being a transvestite, and kissed him forcibly. When the victim shouted for help, the accused allegedly ran away. The suspect was summoned for investigation and a case was registered.
Indian mugged: Two men on a motorcycle allegedly assaulted an Indian expatriate, stole KD 90 from him and escaped, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The Indian filed a complaint at Sulaibikhat Police Station and said the incident took place in front of his house. He submitted a medical report stating that he suffered various injuries and bruises due to the beating he received at the muggers’ hands.
Smuggling bid foiled: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport foiled two Egyptian men’s attempt to smuggle hashish into the country and got them arrested, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Sources say the Customs officers noticed the suspicious behavior of the Egyptians and checked their baggage thoroughly. Hashish was found hidden in their bags.
Watchman robbed: An Egyptian, who works as a watchman in a building in Abu Halifa, filed a report at the police station that an unidentified person robbed him of KD 270, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to the complainant, he was surprised when a vehicle stopped suddenly near the building and a man, who claimed to be a military officer at the Ministry of Interior, asked him to go inside the car. Since the man showed his military badge, the Egyptian obliged but he was taken aback when the former took his wallet, which contained cash amounting to KD 270, by force.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspect.
