40,655 Kuwaitis may not receive grant of 1000 KD

A total of 40,655 Kuwaitis might not receive the Amiri grant if they fail to update their bank and civil information within the specified period, reports Alam Al-Yawm daily quoting head of the Amiri Grant Monitoring Committee Sheikh Mubarak Al-Abdullah.

Sheikh Mubarak called on these citizens to visit the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) and the committee to update their data to benefit from the grant which, he affirmed, will be distributed to all Kuwaitis, including those in other countries, on Feb 24.

Commending the 300 members of a team tasked to oversee the disbursement of the grant, Sheikh Mubarak said these people have been working 18 hours daily, including holidays.

Sheikh Mubarak added he had earlier asked Deputy Premier for Legal Affairs, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Justice Rashed AbdulMohsen Al-Hammad to nominate three judges to settle legal issues concerning families to ensure smooth distribution of the grant. He clarified anyone who fails to collect the grant within six months will lose the privilege, indicating those who are 21 years old and above will receive the grant directly, while those below 21 will get it through the bank account of their parents or guardians.
