Foam cartons seized Toddler killed in Oyoun fire
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9: The encroachment team from Kuwait Municipality confiscated 15,000 cartons of foam sprayers stored inside the basement of an abandoned building in Sharq, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Owner of the items will be questioned for turning the basement to storage, although the building will be demolished. It had been published in the local dailies that the manufacturing and importation of the sprayers is banned.
Toddler killed: A year and half old Kuwaiti child died when fire erupted at the family home in Oyoun, Jahra area and two other members of the family inhaled smoke.
Acting on information, firefighters accompanied securitymen and paramedics to the scene and evacuated seven members of the family who were trapped in the fire. Unfortunately, the child died of excessive smoke inhalation and the body was sent to Forensics, while paramedics referred the two other victims to Jahra Hospital.
Sources said firefighters were able to quench the fire after two hours because it completely consumed the house. High ranking officials were present to direct the operation. The case has been registered for investigation.
Motorists nabbed: In a recent campaign in Waha, Oyoun, Qaser and Taima areas of Al-Jahra, security operatives have arrested 20 motorists for reckless driving, three individuals without civil ID and two other persons involved in civil and criminal cases. The culprits have been referred to the concerned authority.

Indian arrested: Security operatives from Hawalli arrested an Indian man for trafficking in alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspect was seen driving in a reckless manner along the Fahaheel Expressway and police stopped him for checking, in the course of which 12 bottles of liquor were seized from the car. The suspect, with the contraband, has been referred to the concerned authority.
