12 Kuwaitis, 15 expatriates in Jan accidents toll of 27 dead Egyptian Fraudster held
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2: Monthly statistics on traffic accidents released by the Criminal Evide-nces Department shows that 27 people died in traffic accidents in January. The dead included 12 Kuwaitis, 15 expatriates and an unidentified person.
The Security Information Department is unhappy with the deaths and implores road users to be careful, while enforcing self-discipline on the road.
Travel ban flouted: Securitymen at the Salmi border apprehended a Kuwaiti man who left the country a week ago, although he had been banned from traveling, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The man was arrested on arrival from a GCC country and he admitted an employee at the border had helped him to leave the country in return for money.
He provided police with information that led to arrest of his accomplice. The two culprits have since been referred to the concerned authority.
Fraudster held: Securitymen arrested a hardened Egyptian fraudster wanted for 20 different cases of betrayal of trust in various police stations, reports Al-Shahed daily.
A security source said the fraudster rented laptops from different shops and individuals and sold them in Friday market, and disappeared later.
Following intensive investigations by securitymen, the whereabouts of the suspect was located and police managed to arrest him. He confessed to the crime.
