Indian cabbie stabbed, loses cash, taxi as police hunt trio
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Police are looking for three men for stabbing an Indian driver of a roaming taxi in his hand before driving off with the taxi and snatching KD 70 from his possession, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The driver told police that the suspects asked him to take them from Farwaniya to Khaitan and on the way, forced him to stop in an open ground where they assaulted and stabbed him before driving off with his taxi.
Settling scores: A Kuwaiti woman in her 40s has filed a complaint accusing a family consisting of a man and three women of assaulting her, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The woman said she had an argument with one of the women at Al-Oqaila beach and the latter sought the help of her family in settling scores.
The complainant submitted a medical report to substantiate her claims.
Authority abused: An Egyptian caretaker of a building in Farwaniya has lodged a complaint accusing two policemen of abusing their authority and beating him, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The complainant said he was standing in front of the building when two patrolmen asked him to show his Civil ID and although he did that, one of them slapped him and the other kicked him, and then took him to police station.
An official from the Egyptian’s sponsor’s company then brought his passport and it helped in his release.
The caretaker submitted a medical report stating he suffered some bruises on his legs. The two policemen will be summoned for questioning.
For and against: A fight broke out between two Egyptian groups at a cafe in Jleeb Al-Shuyouk; one group was supporting the protests currently taking place in Egypt, while the other was against demonstrations, reports Al-Wattan Arabic daily.
Acting on information, police rushed to the place and solved the problem amicably.
Where’s my bag?: Captain of Kuwait Airways’ flight No. 101 to London-New York allegedly caused the cancellation of the flight last Saturday and losses to Kuwait Airways Company (KAC), reports Al-Rai daily.
The captain reportedly refused to fly before his bag reached the plane and delayed the flight for three hours following which the trip was cancelled altogether.
