Co-worker on bulldozer runs over, kills Bangladeshi man 30 inmates probed in drug smuggling
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: A 30-year-old Bangladeshi worker was killed in a tragic accident in Abu Al-Hasaniya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The victim was run over by a coworker who was driving a bulldozer at a project site. Paramedics rushed to the location on receiving information about the accident and took the victim to hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Police are conducting investigations to know how the accident took place.
Kuwaiti dead: A Kuwaiti man was found dead in the diwaniya of his house in Sulaibikhat, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man’s remains were referred to Forensics to identify the cause of the death.
A police source said when the man’s family members noticed his absence and went to look for him, they found him lying motionless in the diwaniya.
Inmates probed: The Central Prison Administration is conducting intensive investigations and questioning 30 inmates following a void attempt to smuggle narcotic pills and heroin into the prison, reports Al-Anba daily.
The 30 inmates had returned to prison from the Palace of Justice and securitymen found 80 narcotic pills and 40 grams of heroin on the floor of the bus they alighted from.
It is being speculated that one of the inmates received the forbidden items from someone while he was at the Palace of Justice and dropped them when he felt he would be searched and the items would be seized on arrival to prison.
‘We smuggle liquor’: Securitymen at Salmi border post arrested four Asian truckers for attempting to smuggle imported alcohol into the country, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Securitymen had searched the trucks thoroughly and seized a number of bottles of alcohol. The truckers later admitted to smuggling alcohol from Iraq many times. The contraband and the smugglers have been referred to authorities.
