Residence transfer - Employer cancelled residence

I am transferring to another firm and I need to exit Kuwait to my country. My employer has already cancelled my residence. My question is can my new employer get a work permit and how many days will it take? Can I get a release?

Name withheld

Answer:
You have not given any details, like whether you were locally hired or from abroad. Well, if you were hired from abroad and have already served over three years then you won’t have any problems transferring your residence. You also won’t face any problems if you have already spent one year with your current sponsor after getting a local transfer. You don’t need to leave the country.
But you should make sure you are not on a govt contract.

New visaSrivi | 1/27/2011 10:12:38 AM For local transfer, 3 days for getting new idnamel, new visa. But, for new visa from home country, it will take 15 days to 45 days.
3 daysSrivi | 1/27/2011 9:36:54 AM once new company applied for new visa, normally, you will get in 3 days, if accepted and all papers are in order. if delayed due to pending papers, of old company airport exit card cancellation in shoun, it will delay more than 6 months. it depends upon papers are in order in shoun,
no guraranteeSrivi | 1/27/2011 9:33:48 AM your company already cancelled your work permit, then local transfer not possible. you have to exit and come in new visa. no other way. After exit to home country, tell your new company to apply for new work permit. Chances are there. Old company has to cancel your work permit, using exit yellow card, from airport. Then only new company can apply. otherwise, delay. Govt is planning to stop, new visa for non-degree holders. but, try ur luck. we cannot give any assurance, like visa possible or not ? you cannot do local transfer, as your visa already cancelled. chances of getting new visa is less. but possible.
