‘Tortured’ man files case against police Nepali Maid hangs herself to death

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: Siyah Al-Rasheedi’s lawyer Faisal Al-Rasheedi filed charges against Ahmadi investigators for torturing him while in detention alongside Mohammad Al-Mutairi who died in detention.
Lawyer Al-Rasheedi said his client was detained at the Ahmadi Police Station due to some cases and was tortured by investigators. He said Siyah was transferred to Andalous Police Station and later to Criminal Investigations Department without revealing the charges against him to anyone. He said the investigators blatantly violated the law.

Maid hangs herself to death: A Nepali housemaid, whose identity has not been disclosed, is said to have ended her life by hanging herself to death, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the maid tied one end of the ‘rope’ made of cloth to a window grill and another around her neck. The incident happened in Abdullah Al Mubarak.
Police are investigating the cause of suicide.

Security breach:
The Kuwait International Airport police have arrested an unidentified Asian worker for entering the ‘Unauthorized’ zone by using the Entry Pass of a compatriot, reports Al-Rai daily.
When the suspect was arrested, he admitted to the charge and said he was replacing his friend who was unable to go to work because he is sick.
The supervisor has also been detained for interrogation for allowing the worker to use the Gate Pass of another employee.

Student absolved: The Administrative Court, headed by Justice Najeb Majid, cancelled Kuwait University’s administrative decision No. 25 issued during 2009-2010 academic session regarding the suspension of a Kuwaiti student from the university due to his alleged abusing of a doctor. The defendant’s lawyer Hassan Al-Ajmi argued that there was no concrete evidence against the student and that the university administration took the decision based on the doctor’s complaint alone. He pointed out that the university ignored a court ruling which exonerated the student of the allegation and added that the ruling was issued before the suspension decision was taken.

Hearing delayed: The Court of First Instance postponed the case involving an Egyptian expatriate who murdered his Filipino wife at a salon for women in Jabriya, and the next hearing will be on Jan 23, 2011.
Lawyer defending the suspect, Basher Al-Nassar from Al-Khashab Legal Group, requested a preliminary hearing and asked for a doctor from Forensics to attend the session, in order that the suspect will go through psychiatric and forensic evaluation. He argued that the two components describing the case as premeditated murder are incomplete, citing the preparation of a murder tool and plan to commit murder. He explained the suspect purchased a knife though, but it doesn’t justify he had planned killing the wife.
Lawyer Al-Nassar went on saying his client was emotionally distressed and naturally reacted after discovering his wife was cheating on him. Moreover, he was under immense pressure because the wife had taken his children away from him to the Philippines, besides cheating on him.
and that made him lose his mind. He mentioned his client had even sought help from police and reported his wife was missing.
The lawyer believes in the court of justice, stressing the ruling will be neutral, without public opinion affecting it.

WHEN THEY ARE VIOLATING THE LAWS AND DO NOT PROTECT PEOPLE. DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF PEOPLE DISRESPECT THE LAW ENFORCEMENT IN KUWAIT BECAUSE OF ALL THIS NEGATIVITY. THEY NEED TO JUST HAVE KUWAITI'S IN THE POLICE FORCE ALONG WITH AMERICANS/EUROPEANS TO BABYSIT THE POLICE ENFORCEMENT.
