KPC starts diesel oil & fuel exports to Egypt, Ethiopia Shipments to strengthen KPC’s global footprint KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16, (KUNA): Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the state-owned entity responsible for the country’s hydrocarbon interests throughout the world, announced Sunday that it exported the first consignments of diesel oil and aircraft fuel to Egypt and Ethiopia.
The move follows agreements signed with the two countries to provide them with oil by-products, according to a KPC statement issued here.
KPC’s International Marketing Sector has in the beginning of 2011 opened a new chapter in the strategy for expansion and excellence aiming to strengthen the corporation’s foothold on the global market, the statement said.
The deals with Egypt and Ethiopia will help cement the corporation’s presence in the two countries and open new markets in Africa, particularly in the regions of East Africa and the Horn of Africa.
In its expansion strategy, the corporation attaches great importance to the new deals, it pointed out, highlighting the importance of contracts signed with Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Lebanon.
The International Marketing Sector is following up closely the developments of the world economy particularly the highly-promising emerging economies in Asia and Africa, the statement added.
