Torture denied as heart attack kills man in jail 8 kilos gold stolen from Fahaheel shop
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: A 35-year old Kuwaiti citizen suffered heart attack while in detention at the Ahmadi Investigations Department and died. The man was arrested by security operatives attached to the Ahmadi Command for the possession of 24 bottles of liquor.
Sources said the man complained of chest pain two days earlier and around 8:00 pm securitymen called an ambulance, but paramedics confirmed he wasn’t suffering from any ailment and so he remained in custody until the next morning when he started complaining of chest pain again.
In the meantime, paramedics rushed him to a hospital affiliated to an oil company in Ahmadi, where he died. The death was registered as natural.
Sources confirmed the deceased man was suffering from heart disorder, which had caused his death and it isn’t true — that he was tortured to death. It is noteworthy that his brother had died of a similar condition.
The corpse has since been referred to Forensics for autopsy, while Ministry of Interior has begun an extensive investigation in that regard, following a report by a medical source that the deceased man had been beaten.
Afghan stabbed: An Afg-hani was stabbed and wounded in the chest, as he fought with a compatriot in Mangaf area. He was referred to the Adan Hospital by paramedics for treatment, after the Operations Room had been notified in that regard.
Indian injured: An Indian man was injured in the abdomen during a clash with a Bangladeshi national in Jleeb Shuyoukh.
Securitymen accompanied paramedics to the scene, following a distress call the Operations Room received about the episode, and the injured man was referred to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment. The case has been registered for investigation.
8 kilos gold stolen: Police are looking for unidentified persons for breaking into a jewelry shop in Fahaheel and stealing eight kilos of gold believed to be worth KD 100,000, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the suspects entered the gold shop by drilling a hole from the neighboring photo studio. The suspects allegedly got into the studio through a window.
When police were informed of the theft, personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department rushed to the spot and lifted fingerprints.
Police sources say it appears the thieves had escaped in a hurry.
In an attempt to nab the thieves police have asked the cell phone companies to provide them a list of telephones that were active between 1:00 and 5:00 am on the day of the incident.
Account hacked: Police are looking for an unidentified person for withdrawing KD 1,500 from the bank account of an unidentified Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The woman claims the suspect stole her card and she discovered the theft when she went to a bank branch to withdraw money. A case has been filed at a local police station.
