My wife will be visiting Kuwait shortly on a visit visa. She has done her graduation. Can the visa be changed to work visa?

Answer: No, it can’t. According to the latest Ministry of Interior instructions only visit visas of infants can be transfered to dependent visas. It doesn’t matter if the adults on family visit visas are graduates or not, these can simply not be changed.

You are mixing up the ‘graduate issue’ with expatriates who come to the country on commercial visit visas. It is these visitors — who are graduates — who can change their visit visas and that too only work permits of those companies which sponsor their visits.

So, please remember that there are two separate types of visit visas governed by different laws.

very strict.Srivi | 1/13/2011 9:41:03 AM nowadays, govt is very strict. to visit to work visa to reduce expatriates. chances of approval from visit visa to work visa is depends upon company strength in shoun. if company is strong, it is easy. in case rejected, she has to go out. better avoid visit to work visa conversion.

better bring in work visa.Srivi | 1/13/2011 9:34:15 AM First arrange job in any company inside kuwait. After getting job, tell company to arrange work visa. If not possible, bring in commercial visit visa, sponsored by same company. ( not by you, as dependant visa), after she enters kuwait, tell same company to apply for visit visa to work visa, if approved, do medical inside kuwait and apply for residency. thats all. No need india medical, no need embassy stamping, simple local transfer. better bring her, directly in work visa, to avoid rejection of visit visa to work visa approval. if company is strong, they can do transfer easily, otherwise, difficult.

She is coming on your sponsorship visit visa, even if she got job, company sponsor work visa. Once sponsor is changing, automatically, she has go go out, come in new visa, after completing medical, embassy stamping and PCC, Police clearance certificate from home country. No other way. highly not possible, for anybody to local transfer. only children are allowed local transfer.
