Lover cheated of KD 800 50 erring motorists booked
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing an Iraqi man with whom she had a relationship of breach of trust, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the woman gave the suspect KD 800 to give it to her family in Iraq. The man has returned to Kuwait without giving the money to the family.
Police are looking for him.
50 erring motorists booked: A campaign organized by the General Traffic Department at the Jahra Hospital has resulted in issuing 50 citations for erring motorists — some for blocking the traffic and others for parking their vehicles designated for handicapped people, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to a security source, the campaign was launched after several handicapped people complained that a lot of inconvenience was caused to them because their places were occupied by other motorists.
Wanted, law violators held: The Mu-barak Al-Kabir police have arrested five men - three for violating residence law and two others who were wanted by law, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspects were arrested at different locations by police during routine security checks. They have been referred to the authorities.
Drunk motorist injured: A 37-year-old Kuwaiti suffered serious injuries after he lost control of his car and crashed into a lamppost in Farwaniya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Acting on information paramedics and police rushed to the spot and found the man trapped inside the vehicle.
After he was rescued from the car police discovered he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
They have also found a bottle of whisky in his car.
He has been admitted to a hospital and will be referred to the authorities after he get well.
KD 4,300 loan not returned: A 48-year old Kuwaiti filed a case in Rehab police station against a compatriot who took a loan worth KD 4,300 and has refused to return it.
The complainant explained the man promised to pay the money back after six months. He will be called for questioning.
Hit-and-run motorist nabbed: A dr-unken Asian man reportedly hit two people with his vehicle in front of a building in Hawalli and escaped.
Based on information, securitymen combed the area and managed to arrest the perpetrator within a short time, after he aroused suspicion of the officers with the erratic manner he was driving.
The officers discovered he was heavily intoxicated when they stopped him for questioning, and two bottles of imported liquor were found after a search was conducted inside the car. He was referred to the relevant authority without delay.
