Police bust gang of car thieves Female business partner accused of fraud
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The Hawalli police have arrested three people for stealing cars from the Hawalli governorate, dismantling them and selling parts for shops at the Amghara Scrapyard, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the arrest came when police received several complaints on the theft of their cars and head of investigations at the security directorate formed a team to arrest the thieves, set a trap for them and caught them red-handed.
During interrogation the suspects are said to have admitted to committing the crime.
The thieves have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Woman accused of ‘fraud’: Police have summoned an unidentified woman for interrogation following a complaint filed against her by a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the complainant the woman is his business partner and he accuses her of forging official documents to benefit from them.
The daily did not give more details.
Youth with 5-yr-jail term held: An unidentified youth who was wanted by the Sentences Enforcement Department to serve a five year prison term has finally been arrested in Maidan Hawally, reports Al-Rai daily.
However, according to security sources at the time of the arrest the accused was under the influence of alcohol and police are said to have seized from him a bottle of booze.
The youth allegedly tried in vain to escape but the cops overpowered him and handed him to the authorities.
