KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: An unidentified person who broke into the car of a Kuwaiti man from the parking lot of the Farwaniya Hospital has been arrested, in less than an hour after he committed the theft, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
According to reports the thief after stealing the laptop computer accidentally left his cellphone on the seat of the car.
When the citizen discovered the theft of the laptop, he found a cellphone in its place. He filed a complaint with the Farwaniya Police Station and also handed over the phone which he found in the car.
Sometime later the suspect telephoned and claimed to have lost the phone. A police officer who answered the phone pretended to have found it and asked the man to come near the Ardhiya Cooperative Society to collect it.
When the thief came to take the phone he was taken into custody. During interrogation he admitted to stealing the laptop and returned it to the owner.
Police investigations also revealed the thief had committed nine other similar crimes. He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.

In another incident,  unknown persons broke open the safety deposit room at the Deportation Center in Jleeb Shuyoukh and stole laptops, electrical appliances and money belonging to the suspects awaiting deportation.
According to security sources, officers at the Deportation Center were surprised as they discovered the items have been stolen from the safety deposit room.
Acting on information, CID from Jleeb Shuyoukh rushed to the place and lifted fingerprints to trace the thieves.
Sources believe the thief might have sneaked into the place and stolen the items, while securitymen at the center were with the management.

Pakistani arrested: Police have arrested a Pakistani man who had been sentenced in absentia for failing to pay money to a telecommunications company, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Meanwhile, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested a Kuwaiti man who was wanted by the General Department for Drug Control, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the suspect was arrested on the outskirts of Mina Abdullah while driving a motorbike.
He has been handed over to the authorities.
