Police arrest gang of 3 medicine thieves, doctors treating illegals
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: The Capital governorate police have arrested three Asians stealing large quantities of medicine from government hospitals and clinics and practicing medicine illegally, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information that the suspects were treating patients who are staying in the country illegally formed a team of securitymen upon directives issued by Assistant Director for Criminal Investigations in the governorate Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah and caught the suspects red-handed in downtown Salhiya.
During interrogation the ‘doctors’ admitted to buying medicine from employees working in government hospitals.
Police are looking for the employees who were selling medicines to the doctors.
Murder attempt: The Salmiya police are looking for four unidentified persons for allegedly attempting to kill the brother of an unidentified former MP. The victim escaped with a stab in the neck in the parking lot of a club in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
It has been reported as soon as the brother of the MP went to his car from a club in Ras Al-Ard, the men pounced on him and after stabbing him in many parts of his body fled the scene.
During interrogation the victim said the suspects were involved in a fight with his brother one year ago and did not expect them to take revenge on him.
Drugs with inmates: The Director-General for Security Affairs at the Central Prison Major-General Khalid Al-Deen is said to have referred two Kuwaiti inmates to the Prosecution for possessing 10 sachets of heroin in addition to two cigarettes filled with drugs, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports this happened during a surprise checking of wards where drug addicts are serving different prison terms.
During the campaign police are also said to have seized 18 cell phones and six chargers.
Youths and drugs: The Capital governorate police have arrested four unidentified persons - three youths and a young woman — for possessing a bottle of booze and a quantity of hashish, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the suspects were caught while driving in a suburb of Rawda. The daily added the suspects were giggling and merrymaking inside the car and this aroused police suspicion.
The suspects and the seized items have been referred to the General Department for Drug Control.
