Trio who ‘raped’ woman after tying up her husband, arrested 5 try to molest minor
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: Personnel from the Hawally Criminal Investigation Department have arrested the three people who had allegedly raped a Filipino woman in front of her husband in Jabriya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting security sources.
Earlier it was reported three youths under the influence of alcohol broke into the apartment of the victim, tied the husband’s feet and hands behind his back, raped his wife and escaped.
The suspects were taken into custody from Jabriya. The circumstances leading to the arrest of the men are not known. However, they are said to have admitted to committing the crime.
They have been referred to the authorities.
Minor’s kidnapper held: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested by securitymen at a checkpoint along King Fahad for kidnapping a minor.
He was referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
5 try to molest minor: Five individuals reportedly tried to kidnap and molest a minor in Umm Al-Haiman area.
According to security sources, the minor arrived at the station and narrated he had a misunderstanding with the five suspects and they kidnapped him to a desert area, where they tried to molest him.
He is said to have managed to escape and rushed to the police station to report the case. Investigation is in progress to arrest the suspects.
KD 300, recharge cards stolen: Thieves reportedly raided a grocery store in Riggae area and stole KD 300 cash and recharge cards.
Securitymen and Criminal Evidences personnel rushed to the location immediately after the Kuwaiti owner of the store notified the Operations Room and lifted fingerprints from the scene to arrest the suspects.
According to the citizen, an Asian worker at the store had called and told him of the theft. The case was registered for investigation.
Wanted Bedoun arrested: Securitymen arrested a Bedoun absconding a nine-year jail term in a drug related offense along the Seventh Ring Road.
According to security sources, the man aroused suspicion of the officers and they ordered him to stop for checking, in the course of which the officers discovered he was wanted by law. He was referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
KD 460 stolen from vehicle: A citizen in his 50s filed a case in Andalous police station against thieves who broke into a vehicle he had parked in front of his house and stole KD 460 cash.
Criminal Evidences personnel arrived at the location and lifted fingerprints to trail the thieves. A case was registered.
Police arrest stuntsmen: Several youths were arrested by securitymen in Khaldiya for stunt-driving, following several complaints the officers received about youths performing stunts with their cars at night time.
Sources said many of the youths escaped at the sight of police, and the persons arrested were referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Meanwhile, two youths were arrested by police for stunt driving in front of Ardiya Cooperative Society.
The officers acted on information the Operations Room received that some youths were performing stunts with their vehicles. Many of the youths are said to have fled the scene, as police arrived. Those arrested were referred to the concerned authority.
